KERMIT CINTRON

As a first grader in Carolinas, Puerto Rico, Kermit Cintron was beat up nearly every day at
school.  He has no idea why.  Today, 20 years later, Kermit Cintron, boasts a record of 26 wins,
24 by KO, and only 1 loss. He is currently ranked  #6 in the world in the Welterweight division.

At the age of eight, upon the passing of his mother (from cancer), Kermit, along with 2 brothers,
moved to the United States. They resided with family in Warminster, Pennsylvania.  At the age of
13, Kermit received news that his father had passed away, due to heart problems. As a means
of therapy, he submerged himself into sports. Kermit played football, baseball, ran track, and
wrestled. He was ranked #10 in the nation as a wrestler.

Kermit did not begin boxing until the age of 19.   He attended Thaddeus Stevens College a year
and a half before deciding to focus solely on a career in boxing. Kermit comments, “Boxing is in
my blood.” His uncle (with whom he was raised) was a professional boxer.

October 7, 2000, Kermit Cintron made his pro debut. He won by a TKO in the second round.
Since then, there have been a few changes in Kermit’s life. On a professional note, he is now
training with Emanuel Steward at Detroit’s Kronk Gym. Kermit comments, “I felt like I got stuck….
to get to the next level, I thought Emanuel was the right trainer for me… at the Kronk Gym, its
competitive… they come to work, and not mess around.”  On a personal note, Kermit Cintron is
now a family man, married with 2 daughters. His family resides in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. He
admits that it is sometimes hard being away, but that his wife, Maria, is both understanding and
supportive.

July 17, 2004, Kermit Cintron defeated Teddy Reid with an 8th round TKO, thus winning the
WBO Welterweight Interim Title. He experienced his only loss April 23, 2005 to Antonio
Margarito. Kermit is intent upon recapturing a Championship Title. His ultimate goal is first to
become the Unified Welterweight Champion of the World, then move up to conquer the Super
Welterweight division. The name Kermit means “free man”.  Thus, Kermit Cintron is certainly at
liberty to attain prolific prominence in the sport of boxing.
